According to the Tuyen Quang Provincial Hydrometeorological and Hydrological Station, on the night of May 22 and the morning of May 23, the province had heavy, very heavy rain, causing flooding in many areas.
Heavy rain in a short period of time caused local flooding at km23 of National Highway 2 on the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang route, the water was more than 50 cm deep, causing traffic congestion.
In the center of Tuyen Quang city, many areas and low-lying roads such as the section passing through the People's Council of Tuyen Quang province and Phung Khac Khoan street were flooded in time, causing many cars to stall and drift.

In addition, some areas of crops and corn in Yen Son, Son Duong, and Ham Yen districts were also flooded. Currently, the authorities are focusing on overcoming and counting the damage.
According to the forecast of the hydrometeorological agency, in the next few hours, Tuyen Quang province will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, possibly tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind that will break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
The authorities recommend that people do not go out when the weather is getting worse. Consolidate works to ensure safety, especially in mountainous areas and lowlands, avoiding dangerous landslides.
Damage of over 1 billion VND
According to a quick report from the Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Tuyen Quang province, the impact of heavy rain on the night of May 22 and the morning of May 23 caused local flooding in many locations in districts and cities, damaging houses and agricultural production.
The authorities recorded 8 houses in Lam Binh and Na Hang districts affected by landslides, 1 toilet project at Xuan Lam Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities (Lam Binh) was affected by landslides.
Heavy rain also caused nearly 100 hectares of rice, corn, vegetables and many other works in Na Hang and Lam Binh districts to be flooded and damaged. There were no human casualties. The estimated value of economic damage is nearly 1.3 billion VND.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committees of districts and cities directed and assigned responsible officers to the grassroots to grasp the situation and direct communes, wards and towns to count the damage, instruct people to overcome the consequences of heavy rain and flooding to ensure stable people's lives and production.
