At the regular press conference on the afternoon of April 2, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered the press on a number of issues related to Vietnam's economic diplomacy efforts to ensure stable fuel supply in the context of a complex world market.
Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized that in the past time, in the face of increasing tensions in the Middle East region, relevant ministries and sectors - including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad - have clearly recognized their responsibilities, proactively, urgently and drastically implemented the close directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party and State leaders to minimize the impact of conflict on Vietnam.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and related ministries and sectors, regularly monitor, assess, forecast the situation, and promptly advise on measures to avoid passivity and surprise, and at the same time be ready to respond and deploy immediately when conflict occurs.
To date, all Vietnamese diplomatic missions in conflict zones are still stationed, regularly updating information and fully performing their assigned tasks, especially citizen protection work.
Within the scope of its functions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has proactively and regularly updated the developments of the situation, as well as adjusted the policies of countries, thereby promptly proposing to the Government response solutions in macroeconomic management and energy management; and at the same time closely coordinated with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and related ministries and sectors to exchange with partners, strengthen trade and investment cooperation and support each other in responding to the current situation" - Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said.
Also according to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over the past time, "Vietnam has implemented high-level energy diplomacy activities as well as at all levels".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to proactively work with functional agencies and local businesses, as well as foreign businesses, in order to contribute to the common effort.
Regarding the question about Vietnam's views on ensuring freedom, security, and maritime safety, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized: "Vietnam always pays attention to ensuring freedom, security, and maritime safety in sea areas, and at the same time affirms a consistent view on the importance of complying with international law to maintain maritime security and safety, for peace, stability, cooperation and development.
