On the evening of May 17, in Co Do commune, Can Tho city, the Can Tho City Boxing - Kickboxing Federation organized the 1st Open Kickboxing - Kun Khmer tournament in 2026.
Mr. Tran Hoang Vu - Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City Boxing - Kickboxing Federation informed that through the tournament to select capable boxers to supplement the city team to participate in domestic and regional tournaments.
Regarding the biggest difficulty currently, Mr. Tran Hoang Vu said that the funding for training and developing the movement is still limited. To improve professional quality, more resources are needed to invest in training, competition and building a professional athlete force.

The 1st Kickboxing - Kun Khmer Open Tournament in 2026 attracts 150 athletes to compete in the semi-professional and amateur systems. Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee wishes to continue to develop the Kickboxing and Kun Khmer movement in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta region.


The Organizing Committee awarded 60 sets of medals, including 23 sets of medals for the semi-professional system and 47 sets of medals for the grassroots system.
The tournament was organized to create a sports playground for young martial artists, contributing to promoting the movement of physical training and sports, developing Kickboxing and Kun Khmer in the Mekong Delta.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the tournament mobilized philanthropists to give about 100 gifts to support people in difficult circumstances. Each gift is worth 400,000 VND, including 10 kg of rice, instant noodles, MSG, sugar, cooking oil, fish sauce.
