On the afternoon of December 8, Dr. Lai Thai Binh - Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines, along with a delegation of officials and attaches from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, went to the Shooting Range to cheer, encourage, present gifts and congratulate the excellent achievements of the Vietnamese shooting team competing at the 46th Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA).
Mr. Do Trong Hien - Chief of Office of the Vietnam Shooting Federation - said: "During the training and competition period at the Southeast Asian Shooting Championship, the delegation of Vietnamese officials, coaches and athletes received the attention, encouragement and enthusiastic help of Mr. Lai Thai Binh - Vietnamese Ambassador and the collective of officials, attaches and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines.
Thanks to the great spiritual encouragement, the shooters competed with determination and achieved good results in the past days."

The tournament took place from December 5 to 14 with the participation of more than 150 athletes and coaches from 7 countries. The Vietnamese delegation included 3 delegation officers, 2 coaches and 10 shooters, competing in 2 events: Trap and Skeet shooting.
Previously, on December 5, shooters Le Nghia, Hoang Thi Tuat, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, and Nguyen Hoang Diep competed in the mixed-gender team shooting competition (with 12 participating teams).
Vietnam Team 1 with shooters Le Nghia and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai excellently achieved a total score of 131 points through the shooting rounds to win the gold medal, surpassing the host team Philippines. This is the first gold medal of Vietnamese shooting at the 2024 Southeast Asian Shooting Championship.
Also in the shooting test, Vietnam team 2, Nguyen Hoang Diep and Hoang Thi Tuat, scored 125 points, ranking 4th overall.

In addition, on today's competition day (December 8), athlete Le Nghia continued to compete excellently, winning another gold medal in the men's individual Trap event; Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai won a bronze medal in the women's individual Trap flying disc shooting event.
At the end of the Trap shooting event, the Vietnamese team won a total of 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal. With this achievement, Vietnam is ranked 2nd out of 7 participating countries, after Thailand.
According to the competition schedule, from December 10-14, the tournament will take place in the Skeet shooting event. In this event, the Vietnamese delegation has 4 athletes participating.
