The Vietnam women's volleyball team is in the best condition, ready for the AVC Nations Cup 2025.

Tomorrow (June 7), the AVC Nations Cup 2025 volleyball tournament will officially kick off at the Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi). As the defending champion, the Vietnam women's team entered the tournament with confidence, determination and thorough preparation in all aspects.

After about a month of training in Quang Ninh, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team returned to Hanoi, practicing at the gymnasium where the tournament officially took place for about the last week. From here, the whole team has completed the final preparations.

To compete for the highest title, physical strength is a very important factor for the players. According to head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, during the training period, the players accumulated physical strength to have better endurance.

At the time of withdrawal before entering the tournament, the whole team is trained with just enough weight so as not to be too tense. Accompanying professional tactical exercises and physical strength training by experts, 14 players still perform each training session with heavy weights to ensure the required weight.

In the group stage, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will face opponents in Group A such as Australia, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China) and India. This is considered an appropriate group, but the Vietnamese girls always need to be cautious and not be subjective towards any opponent.

The current squad has a combination of experience and youth. Key players such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Lam Oanh... continue to be the key factors. Meanwhile, young faces like Vi Thi Nhu Quynh also have impressive form and are ready to explode.

In particular, this tournament marks the participation of 4 new faces compared to the team's squad in 2024, namely Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Phuong and Luu Thi Ly Ly Ly.

"S main attackers such as Nguyen Thi Phuong and Nguyen Thi Uyen still have simple playing style, but the coaching staff has adjusted the players to assemble the squad to achieve the best coordination. Next, the coaching staff is actively adjusting the players' expertise to have effective coordination", head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared.

Not only in terms of professional preparation, logistics, health care and psychology for athletes are also focused on. The coaching staff has made adjustments to the training program to avoid unnecessary injuries.

According to the coaching staff, the progress in technique and competition psychology of the young players is a clear positive point in the recent preparation period. The goal of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is to overcome each match, compete with dedication and aim to successfully defend the championship title.

Playing at home helped Thanh Thuy and her teammates receive enthusiastic cheers from the audience, giving them more motivation on the field. However, this also requires Vietnamese girls to be brave and overcome pressure to prove the position of Vietnamese women's volleyball on the map of continental volleyball.

AVC Nations Cup 2025 takes place from June 7 to June 14 at Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi). This year's tournament brings together 11 participating teams including host Vietnam, Australia, Kazakhstan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Taiwan (China).
