Quan Trong Nghia becomes captain of the men's team
The men's volleyball team will compete in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 tomorrow (June 18). Before the competition day, coach Tran Dinh Tien had chosen him as captain.
With opposite Pham Van Hiep unable to participate in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 due to injury, the captain's armband of the Vietnam men's volleyball team in this tournament was awarded to the main striker Quan Trong Nghia.
With extensive experience, Quan Trong Nghia is expected to be the spiritual leader for the whole team.
At the AVC Nations Cup 2025, head coach Tran Dinh Tien brought 14 players to Bahrain. This coach said that the players have been professionally prepared in the past. The whole team is very focused on the tournament, keeping a good spirit to carry out the assigned tasks.
This is the second international professional tournament that the Vietnam men's volleyball team will participate in in in 2025. In May, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team participated in the 2025 Asian Men's Club Cup.
Women's team praised
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team winning the AVC Nations Cup 2025 at home has brought many positive signals. The fact that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team won the tournament for the third consecutive time and were promoted to 25th place in the world has proven the development of Vietnamese girls.
General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, Mr. Le Tri Truong shared: "The Vietnamese women's volleyball team winning the tournament championship for three consecutive times is very commendable. This is an official tournament and we have the No. 1 position, so the image of the team continues to receive positive values".
The AVC Nations Cup 2025 championship has helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team qualify for the 2026 Asian Championship to take place in China next year.
Former foreign player of the Information Corps attends VNL
The Canadian team has recently announced the list of athletes participating in the second week of the 2025 International Volleyball League (Volleyball Nations League, also known as VNL). They are without opposite Van Ryk for unknown reasons and second-stroke Brie due to injury.
In this list, the main striker Andrea Mitrovic continues to be present. She is a former foreign player of the Information Corps - Dong Bac Command team in early 2025.
In week 2, Canada will meet South Korea, Turkey, Brazil and Belgium.
