Tran Thi Thanh Thuy becomes captain of the women's volleyball team
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team and the team of players continue to trust and assign the responsibility of captain to main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team started training from May 25 in Bac Ninh to prepare for the AVC Cup 2026.
Last year, this main attacker was also the captain of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and she participated in all international tournaments and completed her national duty.
At the time of preparing for SEA Games 33, Thanh Thuy joined the team late due to having to compete in Japan. However, this year, this main attacker will not be entangled in the national tournament schedule during the professional preparation phase with the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team towards ASIAD 20.
It is expected that on the evening of June 3rd, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates will go to the Philippines to participate in the AVC Cup 2026. The tournament is officially scheduled from June 6th to June 14th.
Plan of Vietnam U18 women's team
The coaching staff of the Vietnam U18 Women's Volleyball Team has enough troops to train. Currently, the young players are training in Tam Dao (Phu Tho).
It is expected that from June 4, the players will return to training at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. The players of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will finish their training program here to compete in the Philippines, so the U18 Vietnam women's players will also have their training location changed.
The training program of coach Le Thi Hien and the Vietnam U18 Women's Volleyball Team in Bac Ninh lasts until the end of June.
The players will go to Thailand to compete in the 2026 AFC U18 Championship from July 1st to July 7th. This is the only international mission for young female volleyball players. After this tournament, the whole team will finish training and return to the managing unit.
Coach Tuan Kiet highly appreciates Dinh Thi Thuy's spirit
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that the return of main attacker Dinh Thi Thuy to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is not surprising.
Mr. Kiet assessed that Dinh Thi Thuy was already a player wearing the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team jersey in previous years, so she was not at all surprised at the 2026 gathering. The point that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet highly appreciated about Dinh Thi Thuy was her spirit.
The head coach said that Dinh Thi Thuy always maintains the spirit of playing her best on the field, so the coaching staff is completely assured when giving her the opportunity to participate in the AVC Cup 2026.
Dinh Thi Thuy has good first-pass defense ability. This is also what we need from the players when focusing on the Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team," coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet added.
In the current training camp, Dinh Thi Thuy is one of the players playing in the main attacking position. In addition to her, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also has main attackers Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh.
