Controversial situation in the Vietnam - Thailand match
In the second set between Vietnam and Thailand at the 2025 SEA V.League, when the score was 21-19 in favor of the home team, the Vietnamese player had a very strong smash but Thailand saved the ball to counterattack.
However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet complained when he thought the ball had hit the floor. The slow-motion video also shows that most of the ball has touched the floor, but the referee still reserved the decision to give that score to the Thai team.

This situation caused a lot of controversy on Vietnamese volleyball forums. The majority of fans did not agree with the referee's decision. If Vietnam had points at an important stage, the result of the second set could have been different.
Nguyen Thi Phuong attracts attention
On the sidelines of the match of the Vietnam women's volleyball team, one of the notable moments was the appearance of the main striker Nguyen Thi Phuong between the "forest" of players and Thai volunteers.
Many people humorously commented that Nguyen Phuong was a "member" and hid in an area reserved for the home team's technical team.

In the first phase of SEA V.League 2025, striker Nguyen Phuong was not registered in the list of players of the Vietnam team. However, she still accompanied her teammates on the journey in Thailand.
