The coaching staff and the Vietnam U21 Volleyball Team have confided in giving the captain role to the main striker Dang Thi Hong to participate in the 2025 U21 World Youth Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Head coach Nguyen Trong Linh said: S player Dang Thi Hong is one of the important factors of the team. At the same time, the other players are very confident in the leadership role on the field of this hitter.
In July, Dang Thi Hong was the captain of the Vietnam U21 Women's Volleyball Team competing in the VTV Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Previously, Dang Thi Hong was a member of the list of 20 players who participated in the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team, implemented by head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet from April 25.
During the training process, Mr. Kiet created conditions for Dang Thi Hong to increase her training force with the Vietnam U21 Volleyball Team to prepare for the 2025 World Youth Championship.
The U21 Vietnam volleyball team has registered an official list of 12 players to compete in Indonesia, including Lai Khanh Huyen, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Dang Thi Hong, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Lan Vy, Nguyen Van Ha, Pham Quynh Huong, Pham Thuy Linh, Le Thuy Linh, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Ha Kieu Vy. The team is expected to visit Indonesia on August 5.
Dang Thi Hong is currently a player of the Thai Nguyen women's volleyball team. However, this player is still old enough to participate at youth levels.
The 2025 U21 Women's Youth Volleyball World Cup will be held in Surabaya (Indonesia) from August 7 to August 17.
Representing Southeast Asian volleyball, only 3 teams have won tickets: U21 Indonesia (host), U21 Thailand and U21 Vietnam.
