Plan to use foreign players in the national championship
Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) said that VFV and the organizing committee of the national volleyball championship have carefully considered and agreed not to implement the regulation of allowing 2 foreign players to play in 1 match. Therefore, in the 2025 season, teams will still only be allowed to send 1 foreign player to compete as before.
VFV also calculated so that the training of athletes at football teams and the opportunities for domestic players to compete are not affected.
In the 2024 season, the national volleyball championship has 10 male foreign players and 10 female foreign players (phase 1); 9 male foreign players and 10 female foreign players (phase 2).
Guaranteed National Championship Prize Level
After the end of the 2024 season, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) is trying to find a sponsor for the 2025-2026 national championship. If nothing changes, it is expected that the prize money for the national championship team will continue to be guaranteed as it is now.
Since 2022, the prize money for the winning men's and women's teams of the national volleyball tournament has been increased to 500 million VND/tournament. Competition bonuses are both the main source of income for coaches and athletes and the motivation for teams to compete for high achievements.
According to research, VFV will officially announce the accompanying unit for the 2025-2026 national championship season and the following years in the coming time, after the parties work, discuss and reach an agreement.
World Championship Draw Time
The draw ceremony for the FIVB Women's World Championship 2025 will take place at 3:00 p.m. on December 17 in Bangkok (Thailand).
Next year's tournament will feature 32 of the world's top volleyball teams and will be divided into eight groups.
Previously, because Thailand was selected by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) as the host country of the 2025 world tournament, the Thai team's spot was reserved for another team in Asia. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team was ranked 32nd in the world and won 4th place at the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, so FIVB promoted them to participate in the world-level tournament.
