Bruno Fernandes was a hero of the "Red Devils" when scoring both goals, taking advantage of the mistakes of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
In the 5th minute, the Manchester team opened the scoring after a chaotic situation in front of West Ham's goal. Goalkeeper Areola caught the ball but unfortunately collided with his teammate, causing the ball to bounce off. In an attempt to correct his mistake, he fouled Ayden Heaven in the penalty area, helping Man United get a penalty. Bruno Fernandes took a decisive shot into the left corner, giving Areola no chance to block.
In the second half, Areola continued to make mistakes when passing the ball into the middle for Patrick Dorgu to cut. The youngster quickly passed it to Fernandes, who then finished delicately, doubling the gap for Man United. If more accurately, Fernandes could have completed his hat-trick, when in the 49th minute, he stole the ball from Kilman and entered the penalty area but the shot was blocked by Areola.
For most of the first half, Man United showed a fiery attacking style of play. Rasmus Hojlund almost scored in the first minute, while Amad Diallo was denied a goal for offside.
On the other hand, West Ham did not play outstandingly. Two notable new signings for Man Utd, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, have had opposite starts. Cunha started from the start but did not leave much of an impression, while Mbeumo was not registered to compete due to not being physically fit.
According to the plan, Man United will continue to face Bournemouth on July 31 and end the US tour with a match against Everton on August 4.
