The deal has a total transfer fee of up to $95 million. The Old Trafford team will pay an advance of $87 million, the rest will depend on the Cameroonian's achievements.
Mbeumo signed a contract until June 2030, with a one-year extension clause and will wear the number 19 shirt. The 25-year-old striker expressed: "playing for the club I have loved since I was a child, Man United, is a dream come true. I am willing to contribute and learn from coach Ruben Amorim and his high-class teammates.
Director of football Jason Wilcox assessed Mbeumo as one of the most stable and effective players in the Premier League for the past 3 seasons, and in line with the club's development orientation.
Having joined Brentford since 2019, Mbeumo has helped the team get promoted and explode last season with 20 goals in 38 matches - the most impressive scoring achievement of a new player to Man United since Van Persie's time in 2012-2013. He is 1m71 tall, has a left foot and often plays on the right.
Mbeumo will join Man United on the US tour, against West Ham (26.7), Bournemouth (30.7) and Everton (3.8). He is the second new signing of the "Red Devils" this summer, after Matheus Cunha from Wolves, along with young defender Diego Leon, who will officially join after reaching the age to play in Europe.
