This morning (December 6), at Na ec football field, Binh Lieu commune, Quang Ninh province, the semi-finals of the 2025 Quang Ninh Open Women's Ethnic Minority Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup took place vigorously, determining the 2 best teams to participate in the final match.
In the first semi-final, the San Duu girls of Mong Duong team, Quang Ninh province continued to prove their position as a championship candidate when they defeated the Binh Lieu team of San Chi girls, Quang Ninh province with a score of 2-1.
Semi-final 2 witnessed a match that was considered evenly matched between Hoa An (Tuyen Quang) and Lam Thuong (Lao Cai). However, the developments on the field showed the superiority of the Tay girls from Lam Thuong. As a result, Lam Thuong team beat Hoa An team with a score of 6-1.
The final match between Mong Duong and Lam Thuong will take place at 8:30 a.m. on December 7, 2025. The award ceremony and closing ceremony were broadcast live on VTV5 and rebroadcast on QTV3 of Quang Ninh Radio and Television Station.
The 2025 Quang Ninh Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province in coordination with the Ethnic Language Television Board - VTV5 (Vietnam Television), opened on the morning of December 3, in Binh Lieu commune - a famous place for ethnic girls playing football.
The tournament includes 8 women's teams, including 6 teams from Quang Ninh and 2 teams from Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang. The teams compete in a 7-a-side women's football format, dividing into groups and competing in a round-robin to calculate points before entering the knockout and final matches. A total of 15 consecutive matches will take place from December 3 to 7.
The female players are ethnic groups: San Chi, Dao Thanh Y, Dao Thanh Phan, San diu, Tay... competing in traditional costumes of their ethnic groups.
