Confidence to continue to be the leading striker
The Gunma Green Wings women's volleyball team (Japan) confirmed on its homepage on July 7 that the main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is officially its player. Thanh Thuy was registered by this team in the list of players competing in the 2025-2026 Japan Women's Volleyball Championship.
In June 2025, a representative of VTV Binh Dien Long An team ( home team Tran Thi Thanh Thuy in Vietnam) revealed that player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Gunma Green Wings team had an initial agreement. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy wants to continue developing her career abroad, so she is looking for opportunities to sign a contract with a team outside of Vietnam to go abroad.
Last week, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy started completing procedures to get an application for a license to compete in Japan as well as waiting for a Japanese visa to be issued in accordance with regulations. In the immediate future, Thanh Thuy and the Gunma Green Wings team signed a contract to play for one season. She is expected to arrive in Japan in September 2025. Gunma Green Wings team started competing in the domestic tournament from October 10.
In January 2025, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy returned home early after a short competition journey at Indonesia's Gresik Petrokimia team. There are not many official shares to let people know why Thanh Thuy ended her contract early.
However, some revelations from experts say that the main problem is that Thanh Thuy is not at her best physical condition (at that time), so the player does not meet the requirements expected by the Gresik Petrokimia team.
However, returning to Vietnam, she is confident in competing in high form with VTV Binh Dien Long An team in the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship and is now focused on competing with the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team.

Opportunities to go abroad for the rest
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy continues to be a leading player of Vietnamese women's volleyball to compete abroad. In April this year, two players Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen participated in a try-out (working test) online with volleyball teams at the Korean national championship. Unfortunately, both were not successful.
After Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, hitter Bich Tuyen is a shining star of Vietnamese women's volleyball in many international tournaments at the moment. Bich Tuyen once revealed that she hopes to have the opportunity to compete abroad.
Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet expressed to the media: Currently, players Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen have a foreign team to discuss to find opportunities for professional cooperation.
However, whether a player is allowed to compete abroad or not depends on the decision of the management unit. However, no team has confirmed their interest in the two players at the present stage.
July and August are the periods when many international teams prepare for their new season. Many scouts are paying close attention to international tournaments to find suitable players to add to the squad. Normally, the national volleyball championships of countries will start the new season in September or October.
The Vietnamese player market is diverse, so it is also noticed by many teams in Asia. Through research, when the AVC Nations Cup 2025 was held in Dong Anh (Hanoi) in June 2025, a scout was quietly present in Vietnam to "hunt" for players.
Currently, no player of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has received attention from foreign teams (except for Tran Thi Thanh Thuy).
