At the recently concluded Pickleball PPA Asia 500 MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026, the Pickleball CAND team won many medals in the Pro content.
This is a tournament organized by UPA Asia, with more than 500 domestic and international athletes participating in Pro and Amateur events in Ho Chi Minh City.
The highlight in the achievements of the CAND Pickleball team is the Pro Men's Doubles championship of Truong Vinh Hien - Do Minh Quan. The Vietnamese duo had a comeback against Robert Stirling - Kenta Miyoshi in the Semi-finals, advanced to the Final and defeated Ly Hoang Nam - Collin Johns after three sets with scores of 13-11, 6-11, 11-4 to keep the gold medal in Vietnam.
The title in Ho Chi Minh City continues to extend the achievement streak of Truong Vinh Hien - Do Minh Quan on the PPA Tour Asia system. After winning the championship at the Hangzhou and Beijing stages, they have gained another championship at home, showing their ability to maintain competitiveness against international opponents in the men's doubles event.
Truong Vinh Hien closed the tournament with two medals. In addition to the men's doubles gold medal, the player of the CAND Pickleball club also won a Pro men's singles bronze medal. After stopping in the semi-finals, Hien returned strongly in the third-place match and defeated Hong Kit Wong with a score of 15-13, 11-3.
In the Pro women's singles event, Huynh Phuong Dai Trang (Trang Huynh) created a memorable milestone right in her first participation in a tournament belonging to the PPA Tour Asia system. Starting the journey from the qualifying round and going straight to the final, Trang Huynh became the first Vietnamese player to participate in the Pro women's singles final. In this match, the Vietnamese representative faced the No. 1 player of Australia - Andie Dikosavljevic, closing the journey after three sets with a silver medal.
In the men's and women's Pro doubles event, the CAND Pickleball club offered two notable combinations. Trang Huynh - Do Minh Quan and Sophia Huynh - Truong Vinh Hien both passed the first rounds before stopping in the 1/16 round. Although not yet deep into the medal-winning group, the fact that many players of the team simultaneously compete in singles and doubles events helps the club have more experiments and important competition experience against international forces.
From the goals set before the opening day to the results achieved on the court, the People's Police Pickleball team had a successful stage in Ho Chi Minh City. The performances of Truong Vinh Hien, Do Minh Quan, Huynh Phuong Dai Trang and members of the team continued to bring the image of Vietnamese athletes to appear in the decisive rounds of PPA Tour Asia, creating more ground for Vietnamese pickleball to aim for higher goals in the regional arena.
