The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved the Vietnam Football Development Project, in which the highlight is the goal of attending the 2034 World Cup. Among the fan base, there are dreamy people, but there are also many people who are practical enough to say that 9 years are not enough. Of course, the important thing is to have a goal, but more importantly, what is the next step? Which way to that goal? Without roads, all goals and visions are on paper.
9 more years - but in fact not yet, because the qualifying round ends at the latest, a few months before the final round - is enough to build a new generation? It will be enough, if we start from today, by renewing our thinking and rebuilding the foundation. It is impossible to step into the biggest playground on the planet with the old way of thinking, the old way of people. It is impossible to live on the past for a completely different journey of class.
If we need an example as inspiration, it took Japanese football about 8 years since reforming to win a ticket to the World Cup for the first time (1998) - their J.League only officially started in 1993. However, remember, it is a fundamental revolution, the breeding improvement strategy that they have implemented many years ago.
Vietnamese football also needs such a profound revolution. Can it be done? It all starts with thinking, from subconscious programming, to move towards new beliefs instead of leaning towards old beliefs. A strong football foundation cannot be built with just a few wins. It needs an ecosystem, which over time, every detail must be synchronous, similar, and joint-edited, so that the machine can operate smoothly and efficiently.
Vietnam can completely dream of the World Cup. But only then will it be the dream of a football community with strategic thinking, organizational capacity and commitment from the profession. Dreams only come true when guided by concrete actions.
There are goals, there are roads. Finding that path is by... going back from the goal itself, to ask questions, to achieve that goal, what do we need, what standards need to be met. And if we take another step back, what should we think about, what should we do... Just go back to the present, are you ready to press the F5 button?
