On the afternoon of November 28, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Olympic Committee organized the Departure Ceremony of the Vietnam Sports Delegation to attend the 33rd SEA Games.
The ceremony was held at the Government Office, honoring the welcoming of Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, Vietnamese coaches and athletes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared: "Vietnamese sports have made many efforts, tried and achieved many important achievements in recent times; not only contributing to improving health, building a healthy cultural life, but also demonstrating outstanding talent, iron will, steadfast determination, resilience, striving to rise up and affirming the image of an integrated, civilized Vietnam, confidently standing shoulder to shoulder with regional and world friends.
Recently, in many localities in the Central and Central Highlands, our people have suffered from storms and floods, causing great damage to people and property. Under the leadership of the Party, the entire political system has joined our people in promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, "national love, compatriotism", making efforts to minimize damage, quickly overcome the consequences and soon stabilize people's lives and production and business activities.
That resilient spirit, that pride flowing in the "manpower" of our generations of Vietnamese people is also a great strength and source of encouragement for the Vietnam Sports Delegation, coaches and athletes when entering the 33rd SEA Games".
The Prime Minister emphasized that the SEA Games is both the largest sports arena in the region, where top athletes from all over the world compete; and a common festival that demonstrates the qualities, will and spirit of peoples, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and good traditional friendship in ASEAN. Over the years, the SEA Games have increasingly affirmed themselves as a prestigious, quality sports playground and attracted the attention of a large number of fans.
The Vietnamese sports delegation to the 2025 SEA Games both aims to achieve high results and carry a great mission - demonstrating the maturity of Vietnam Sports, expressing the image of a country of Vietnam that is innovative, friendly, disciplined and aspirational; affirming the stature, position and prestige of the country.

"I hope and believe that in the luggage of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, the coaches and athletes participating in the SEA Games will carry the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the will to be resilient, the courage to each race, each match and achieve the highest results, so that the "red flag with yellow star" leaves fly high in the regional arena, bringing glory to the Fatherland.
To have today's elite squad, each athlete, each coach and expert has gone through a long journey of hard work, overcome their own limits and accept silent sacrifices. It is the spirit of non-stop training that is the most solid foundation for upcoming successes," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Also at the launching ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to direct the Vietnam Sports Delegation, coaches and athletes to focus on thoroughly grasping and performing well the following tasks:
First, each cadre, coach, and athlete is fully aware of their responsibility to "play with all their might, surpass themselves". Let's consider each match and game as a final. Play with the greatest effort, the highest determination, break your personal record, aim for regional records.
Second, promote the spirit of high sportsmanship (Fair Play) and the beauty of Vietnamese culture: Play with determination, with honesty and nobility, but absolutely respect your opponents, the referee and the audience. Each member of the Vietnam Sports Delegation must demonstrate the role of a "cultural ambassador", contributing to spreading the image of a kind, harmonious, intelligent and civilized Vietnamese people, contributing to consolidating and tightening solidarity, friendship and cooperation with the people of Southeast Asian countries.
Third, absolutely comply with discipline: The whole Youth Union needs to maintain discipline, order, and standard style of conduct; promote the spirit of solidarity and unity in will and action; strictly comply with competition laws and international standards; maintain a civilized lifestyle, ensure absolute safety of health and security throughout the time attending the Congress.
"We believe that the Vietnam Sports Delegation will most promote the sense of responsibility, Vietnamese bravery, Vietnamese will, Vietnamese spirit, brave competition, glorious victory, and bring glory to the Fatherland.
