Vietnam Sports Delegation donates over VND116 million to people affected by floods

The Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games donated more than 116 million VND to people in provinces affected by storms and floods, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love.

On the afternoon of December 3, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports and Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games - represented the delegation to donate 116.5 million VND to support people in the provinces affected by storms and floods.

Before leaving for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, athletes, coaches and officials of the Vietnam Sports Delegation contributed voluntarily, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love" and social responsibility. Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized that in addition to mobilizing officials and civil servants in the sports industry to contribute one day's salary, the Department of Physical Education and Sports also organizes sports exchange activities to raise funds, to support people in the Central region and areas affected by natural disasters.

"Although the amount is not large, this is a sincere sentiment of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, hoping to contribute to helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives," Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh shared.

Receiving the money, Mr. Cao Xuan Thao - Head of the Social Work Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - expressed his appreciation for the gesture of the sports industry and pledged to transfer support to the right beneficiaries and for the right purposes as soon as possible, helping people quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
