Before the final day of competition (April 30) of the 2026 Asian Beach Games took place, the Vietnamese sports delegation only ranked 6th due to having 12 medals (including 2 gold medals).
However, on the last day, the Vietnamese women's beach handball team won 1 more gold medal. Therefore, we have a total achievement of 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and won 4th place overall.
At the 2026 Asian Beach Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation with 90 members (54 athletes) competed in 26 events of 8 official sports.
The head of the Vietnamese sports delegation is Mr. Le Thanh Ha (Deputy Head of the High-Performance Sports Department, Vietnam Sports Administration).
On the overall results table, the host delegation China holds the first position with 24 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 13 bronze medals. The second position is the Thai delegation with 10 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 9 bronze medals. The Iranian sports delegation is ranked 3rd with a result of 9 gold medals, 1 silver medal.
The Games had 14 delegations win gold medals. This year, the 2026 Asian Beach Games organized 14 official sports (15 sub-sports) with 62 events already competed.
The sports included in the competition in China this year include 3x3 basketball, open water swimming, water polo, aquaathlon, beach athletics, beach handball, beach soccer, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach kabaddi, beach wrestling, traditional boat racing, jujitsu, sailing, mountain climbing sports, beach teqball.
The sports that won medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation included beach handball, open water swimming, beach athletics, beach wrestling, and traditional boat racing.
The Asian Olympic Council (OCA) has chosen the Philippines as the host of the next Asian Beach Games, scheduled for March 2028.
