The coaching staff of the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team and 9 players have gone to Thailand for training before competing in ASIAD 20 today, September 1.
The training session lasts for 2 weeks. This is a decisive stage for the members of the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team to focus on adjusting their expertise before going to Japan to compete in mid-September.
At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team won a gold medal in the women's 4-man event.
Therefore, the task of protecting the above achievement at ASIAD 20 is being set for Vietnamese players.
In August this year, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team competed at the 2026 World Championship in Bangkok (Thailand) and won 1 gold medal (women's doubles), 2 silver medals (4 women's, regu team).
The results evaluated by the coaching staff accurately reflect the current performance of the athlete.
However, the training program in Thailand at this stage is a time of careful preparation to help each Vietnamese female sepak takraw player have the peak of their best form.
The coaching staff trains 9 players including: Le Ngoc Tuyet, Nguyen Thi Khanh Ly, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Le Thi Hong Lien, Nguyen Thi My, Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Thi Yen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, Hoang Thi Thu Thao.
This is the main squad that will participate in ASIAD 20 of the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team.
It is expected that in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team may conduct some training matches with local players to rub shoulders professionally.
