On the evening of May 3rd local time in Egypt, the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team had weightlifter A Tieu compete in the men's 65kg weight class.
A Tieu won an additional bronze medal in the competition results. In 3 snatch events, A Tieu achieved weights of 128kg, 131kg and 134kg respectively.
The result of 134kg was identified as A Tieu's final snatch achievement, and at the same time this is also the weight that brought home a bronze medal for Vietnamese athletes.
In clean and jerk, A Tieu only achieved a weightlifting result of 155kg and did not have a medal. Regarding the overall achievement, athlete A Tieu had a result of 289kg, so he ranked 5th.
In the men's 65kg weight class, the overall gold medalist was weightlifter Wang Liqian (China) with a result of 302kg.
The World Youth Championship is still competing in Egypt until the end of May 8. However, the Vietnamese Youth Weightlifting Team soon finished the events when 3 athletes K'Duong, A Tieu and Y Lien completed the competition program.
For this result, in total, the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team has 1 bronze medal from athlete K'Duong in the men's 60kg weight class.
Calculating the achievements in each event of snatch, clean and total, the Vietnamese youth weightlifting team has 4 bronze medals, including 3 bronze medals from K'Duong and 1 bronze medal from A Tieu.
