Vietnam shooting team wins gold medal at 2025 Asian tournament

Shooter Nguyen Mai Chi of the Vietnam Shooting Team won the first gold medal at the 2025 Asian Championship.

At the tournament held in Kazakhstan, Nguyen Mai Chi convincingly won the final of the women's 10m air rifle event for mobile, youth group. She beat the home shooter Khussainova Kamila with a score of 6-1, winning a gold medal. This is the first gold medal of the team in the tournament.

In this event, shooter Le Thao Ngoc won an individual bronze medal after a 6-4 victory over Fedorova Kamilla (Kazakhstan). Regarding the team results, the Vietnamese women's hand-held air rifle team won the bronze medal. Currently, we have 1 gold medal and 2 bronze medals.

The Vietnamese shooting team participated in the tournament with 20 shooters, competing in youth events and the 2025 Asian champion. The three key shooters Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen, Pham Quang Huy are all present to compete in Kazakhstan.

Trinh Thu Vinh has not won a medal in the women's 10m air gun shooting event while Le Thi Mong Tuyen did not enter the final of the women's 10m air gun event.

However, the coaching staff of the Vietnam shooting team said that the chance of the shooters winning more medals is still open in the following events.

On August 23, Trinh Thu Vinh continued to compete in the women's 25m sports pistol shooting event. She is expected to achieve the best results in this event. In addition, Le Thi Mong Tuyen continued to compete in the mixed-use 10m air rifle competition on August 23.
