According to Lao Dong's investigation, the coaching staff of the Athletics Team selected young athlete Dong Thi Huong to receive a spot to compete at the 2026 Youth Olympics held in Senegal.
The World Athletics Federation (WA) has awarded 1 spot to Vietnamese athletics in the women's 400m event.
With the professional results in competition, Dong Thi Huong is honored to have the opportunity to compete in Senegal this year.
Dong Thi Huong is an athlete of Bac Ninh athletics and she is being trained with the Vietnamese Youth Athletics Team at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports.
This athlete just won a gold medal in the women's 400m event at the 2026 National High School Sports Festival athletics event. Dong Thi Huong has a time of 47 seconds 82.
Up to this point, Vietnamese Sports has determined to receive 10 slots to participate in the 2026 Youth Olympics. Each sports team with a slot to participate in this Games will prepare forces ready to compete.
The 2026 Youth Olympics takes place from October 31st to November 13th in Senegal. The last time the Youth Olympics was held was in 2018 in Argentina. Vietnamese sports won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the above Games.
Vietnam's athletics has 2 athletes (1 male, 1 female) participating in the 2018 Youth Olympics but did not win a medal.
According to the preliminary schedule of the 2026 Youth Olympics, athletics will take place from November 8 to November 10.
