The coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team registered 9 athletes to participate in this year's tournament.
The whole team went to China to prepare before competing on July 6 to get acquainted with the field.
The team of 9 Vietnamese athletics faces will compete including Le Thi Tuyet Mai (women's 400m hurdles), Le Thi Tuyet (women's 5,000m, 10,000m), Le Thi Cam Tu (women's 200m), Nguyen Khanh Linh (women's 800m, 1,500m), Duong Thi Thao (women's high jump), Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh (women's 3,000m hurdles, 5,000m), Ha Thi Thuy Hang (women's long jump) and Ho Trong Manh Hung (men's three-stroke), Ta Ngoc Tuong (men's 200m, 400m).
The Vietnamese athletics team aims to win medals at the tournament and focuses on the opportunity to strive to win the championship in the strong event.
The official competition program of the tournament takes place from July 9th to July 12th.
This is the first time the Asian Athletics Federation has organized the Championship for U23 age groups.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team also predicts that some young athletes from countries preparing for ASIAD 20 will participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
The organizing committee will hold a professional meeting on July 8 for the teams to register the final official list.
In our squad, athlete Ta Ngoc Tuong is expected to perform well in the men's 400m event and Le Thi Cam Tu can reach the women's 200m championship.
