Vietnam Karate team wins 3 bronze medals at K1 international tournament in Malaysia

On October 5, the K1 International Karate Tournament officially closed in Malaysia and Vietnamese fighters won 3 bronze medals.

The first bronze medal belonged to athlete Hoang Thi My Tam in the women's 55kg weight class. The little girl of karate Vietnam entered the semi-finals but did not win so she received a bronze medal in the event. Achievements at the K1 International Karate Championship are the most effective professional assessment.

On the same day of competition, boxer Dinh Thi Huong won the bronze medal in the women's 68kg weight class. She entered the semi-finals but unfortunately lost.

The remaining bronze medal went to the women's team leader in kata (performance). Players Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc Tram, Hoang Thi Thu Uyen, Bui Ngoc Nhi competed for 3rd place overall,

Up to now, the Vietnam Karate Team has participated in the 2025 Asian Championship and the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship to get the best results. However, the K1 tournament in the world system is an important tournament we have participated in this year.

After the K1 tournament in Malaysia, the Vietnamese player returned home. After that, the fighters will prepare professionally to participate in the qualifying round of the 2025 World Championship. The Vietnam Karate coaching staff hopes that all fighters will compete with the best results.

Last year, the Vietnam Karate Team won an official spot to compete in the 2024 World Team Championship.
