Athlete Nguyen Quang Thuan has finished second in a qualifying round of the men's individual 400m mixed-use event at the 2025 World Swimming Championship.

On the morning of August 3, swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan - the younger brother of former athlete Nguyen Thi Anh Vien participated in the men's individual 400m mixed-use qualifying round at the 2025 World Swimming Championship.

The distance for organizing the competition is 4 qualifying rounds. Nguyen Quang Thuan participated in the first qualifying round with athletes from Maldives, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Turkey, Lebanon.

The young swimmer from Vietnam started in the second heat and after the rounds of competition finished second with a result of 4 minutes 23 seconds 99. The first finisher in the qualifying round was athlete Kabbara (Lebanon) thanks to a result of 4 minutes 23 seconds 51.

Although Quang Thuan finished second, his professional statistics were not enough to help the player get a place in the final round. This is the first time Quang Thuan has finished second in a qualifying round of the World Swimming Championship.

On the results of this year's men's individual 400m mixed-use qualifying round, Nguyen Quang Thuan ranked 25th.

Last year, Nguyen Quang Thuan competed in the above distance qualifying round at the 2024 World Swimming Championship and achieved a time of 4 minutes 28 seconds 72, ranking 20th.

The Vietnamese swimming team has finished competing in the 2025 World Championship of Swimming held in Singapore after the competition of Nguyen Quang Thuan.

This year, we have four competitors: Vo Thi My Tien, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Pham Thanh Bao, Nguyen Quang Thuan.
