Currently, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has not officially announced that it will check the gender of players participating in the 2025 World Volleyball Championship.

Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that up to now, there has been no official document to conduct a gender test for female players at the 2025 World Volleyball Championship to compete in Thailand from August 22 to September 7.

Mr. Le Tri Truong shared: "The World Volleyball Federation informs all members of the Federation that have a team to participate in the 2025 Women's World Volleyball Championship".

Recently, many sources quoted the President of the Thai Volleyball Federation - Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang as saying that the Organizing Committee of the 2025 World Volleyball Championship will propose that FIVB check the gender of female players participating in the tournament.

The 2025 World Volleyball Championship brings together 32 top women's teams. The Vietnam women's volleyball team won an official spot when they achieved the result of being fourth in the 2023 Asian Championship. We will participate in the qualifying round in Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya.

Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has registered a list of 14 official players participating in this tournament, including Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh.

The whole team is training in Dong Anh (Hanoi) when the end of the second phase of the 2025 SEA V.League has ended. On August 15, the Spanish and Kenyan teams traveled to Vietnam for training. The Vietnam women's volleyball team will play the two teams in three important matches.

If nothing changes, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will go to Thailand on August 20. We will compete in the group stage in Phuket City (Thailand).

The World Athletics Federation (WA) has begun testing the gender of female athletes in official tournaments under the system. Gender testing for female athletes is mandatory and will be implemented from the 2025 World Athletics Championship (September 2025). Female athletes will not test by measuring testosterone but by giving a sample to analyze theSRY gene. If the sample is SRY positive for the gene, athletes are not allowed to compete in the women's category. In case an athlete with Dis Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD) has a body that produces high testosterone, this testosterone level will have to be lowered to meet the prescribed conditions. The Vietnam Athletics Federation has been informed by WA to check the gender of female athletes.
