Nearly 1,000 coaches and athletes entered the 2026 National Youth Karate Championship held in Thanh Hoa.

On June 5, the 2026 National Youth Karate Championship officially opened.

This year, the Organizing Committee recorded a large force of nearly 1,000 coaches and athletes from 31 units nationwide registered to compete.

Athletes can compete in individual and team events for kata and kumite in the age groups 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17 and 18-22.

To increase professional attractiveness, the martial artists of the National Young Karate Team are allowed to return to their managing units to participate in this year's tournament.

The organizers said that the tournament will be an opportunity for managers to evaluate the training of young karate athletes nationwide and find promising factors to invest in development in the future.

In September, the Vietnamese youth karate team will register forces to participate in the 2026 Asian Youth Championship in Jordan.

Therefore, the faces that achieved good results and showed their form in the 2026 National Youth Championship will have the opportunity to be prepared by the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Youth Karate Team for the above tournament.

The competition program for the 2026 National Youth Championship will last until June 12.

Last year, the Hanoi youth karate team won the No. 1 position overall with 12 gold medals. This year, this unit aims to defend its No. 1 position.
