National Taekwondo Club Championship kicks off on a large scale

The National Taekwondo Club Championship will kick off from September 9-16 at Thai Nguyen Provincial Gymnasium.

The National Taekwondo Club Championship - Korean Ambassador Cup 2025 officially took place from September 9-16 at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Gymnasium on a large scale.

Accordingly, this year's tournament has the participation of 1,400 coaches, athletes and professional staff from 46 clubs in provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.

The tournament is an important annual playground in the national competition system, and at the same time a place to select young talents for the national team and the national youth team, preparing for major tournaments in 2026.

Athletes will compete in 4 age groups: under 12; 12-14; 15-17; over 17 years old, with a total of more than 120 obstacles and performing rights.

The under-12 group will compete in 26 events; the 12-14 group will compete in 32 events; the 15-17 group will have 33 events and the over-17 age group will compete in 31 events. This shows the diversity and richness of the competition system, helping young fighters compete at many levels.

In particular, this year's tournament recorded the first participation of many clubs from localities such as Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, Dien Bien..., showing the strong spread of the taekwondo movement across the country, especially after the merger of administrative units.

Some prominent faces are expected to shine at the tournament such as Nguyen Ngoc Lan Phuong (Hanoi) - Gold Medalist of the 2025 U14 Asian Youth Championship; Le Quang Huy (HCMC) - Gold Medalist of the 2025 U14 Asian Cup; Le Phan Tuan Kiet (Gia Lai) - preparing to attend the Asian Youth Championship in Bahrain; Pham Minh Bao Kha (Dong Thap) - Southeast Asian champion 2025.
