Winning 5 gold medals, Hanoi fencing holds first place at the 2026 National Youth Championship

The Hanoi fencing team has maintained the No. 1 position at the 2026 National Youth Championship, which ended in Quang Ninh.

On the afternoon of May 29, the 2026 National Youth Fencing Championship ended with decisive finals in the U20 age group event.

This year, the tournament attracted nearly 160 swordplayers from 8 units nationwide competing in the three-sided sword, sword-cutting, and sword-laying events for the U17 and U20 age groups.

The contents of the U17 age group took place earliest, while the U20 age group competed until the last day.

On the overall result board, the Hanoi team won 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 10 bronze medals to maintain the No. 1 position.

The gold medals of young Hanoi fencers were brought back from the competition results of Nguyen Ngoc Nhi (female individual three-sided swordplay U17), Nguyen Dinh Khanh (male individual swordplay U17), Bui Ngoc Anh (female individual swordplay U20), Nguyen Dinh Khanh (male individual swordplay U20), Bui Ngoc Anh/Le Vu Thuy Duong/Ha Thi To Xuyen/Vu Xuan Mai (female swordplay team U20).

Ranked after the Hanoi team, second place belongs to the Ho Chi Minh City youth fencing team (5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 1 bronze medal). Third place is the Thanh Hoa team (5 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 10 bronze medals).

The teams behind the top 3 teams are People's Police, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nghe An. The Nghe An team participated in the competition for the first time and the young fencer won 1 bronze medal to rank 8th.
