Man United continued to show impressive form in the 2025 Summer tour to the US when they beat Bournemouth 4-1 at Soldier Stadium, Chicago.
After the match, the Portuguese coach commented: "I saw them play better because of their clear cohesion, not only on the pitch but also in real life. They are stronger, faster, and have a completely different intensity compared to last season.
Fitness data and travel distance both showed clear changes. The same group of players, but the playing style can be completely different when they understand each other better."
Man United were superior to Bournemouth despite unfavorable weather conditions. Goals from Rasmus Hojlund, Patrick Dorgu, Amad Diallo and young talent Ethan Williams helped the team win convincingly 4-1.
Amorim added: "We played well, were more intense, more strong and more determined, that's what I wanted to see because last season we lacked this. They are listening, improving and that is the most important thing right now".
However, he warned: "We are improving. But remember, this is just a friendship. The real pressure will come when the season starts."
The match recorded a small loss for Man United when center back Harry Maguire had to leave the field after the first half due to muscle problems.
Coach Amorim explained: "He had a small problem during the break and has just returned to training. We are carefully controlling each person's physical strength so that no one is overloaded".
Man United is leading the Premier League Summer Series 2025 with 6 points after two wins. In the final round, they will meet Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 4:00 am on August 4 (Vietnam time).
