On the morning of November 23, at Cau Giay Pickleball Court Complex (Hanoi), the Opening Ceremony of the "Green Dream" Pickleball Tournament 2025 organized by Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper took place.
The event attracted a large number of delegates, guests, sponsors and 240 athletes from many press agencies, partner organizations and the community that loves pickleball.
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association acknowledged the support of units, individuals and groups for the tournament.
He emphasized: "This is not only a sports playground but also an opportunity to meet, interact, and connect journalists, partners, guests, and the sports-loving community, thereby spreading the spirit of health training, solidarity, and sharing".
In addition to the goal of improving spiritual life, the source of mobilization from the tournament will contribute to supporting children with cancer, awarding scholarships to journalism students in difficult circumstances to strive to improve their studies.
Right in the ceremony, the Organizing Committee launched a program to support the people of the Central and Central Highlands who are suffering heavy damage due to floods. The call quickly received the response of athletes and guests, demonstrating the spirit of sharing and compatriotism, values that have become a tradition of the Vietnamese people.
The "Green Dream" pickleball tournament not only aims to improve spiritual life but also has profound humanitarian meaning. The campaign from the tournament will support children with cancer and provide scholarships for journalism students in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that each support is a "seed of hope", making a practical contribution to the community. At the same time, he expressed concern about the flood situation in the Central - Central Highlands and called on everyone to join hands to share difficulties, preserve the spirit of mutual love of the nation.
Evaluating the tournament, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that success lies not only in the organization but also in the competitive spirit and dedication of the athletes. The upcoming matches will bring many beautiful plays, sublime moments and memorable emotions to the participants.
After the opening ceremony, the official competition events began on a system of 9 international standard courts, equipped with a modern LED lighting system, providing professional and favorable competition conditions.
