The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation. On this occasion, the tournament organizing committee presented 20 million VND to the Cao Lanh Ward Education Promotion Fund (Dong Thap province), demonstrating the spirit of social responsibility of the tournament.

Right after the opening ceremony, the Group A match between Dong Thap University and FPT University Can Tho took place with a game in favor of the home team. Under the guidance of coach Joao Pedro and the enthusiastic support of the home crowd, the Dong Thap University players played aggressively from the beginning of the match.
The first goal was scored in the 37th minute by Le Tan Hao after a good technical handling and finish. Entering the second half, the home team continued to dominate and scored 3 more goals thanks to Nguyen Hoang Phuc (minute 63), Huynh Ngoc Luan (minute 68) and Le Tan Hao (minute 70), ending an impressive 4-0 victory.
In the remaining match of Group A, Saigon College of Science and Technology won a narrow 1-0 victory over Mekong Delta University, with the only goal scored by Thien Tin in the 67th minute.
The tournament will continue with the first round of Group B on July 19, promising exciting matches between student teams in the Southern region.
The tournament will take place until July 27, with a total prize value of more than 100 million VND. The champion team received 20 million VND, the second place team received 15 million VND, the two third-place teams received 10 million VND/team, and the style team received 7 million VND. In addition, the tournament also has individual titles such as excellent player, top scorer, excellent goalkeeper, excellent referee for completing tasks.
In each match, the organizing committee also awarded the first scorer and the best player of each match worth 500,000 VND/tournament in cash.
