The Vietnamese chess team has completed the list of participants in the 33rd SEA Games. After careful calculation of expertise, 6 players were officially sent to Thailand to compete in December: Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Bang Gia Huy, Le Tuan Minh (male), Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Vo Thi Kim Phung, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong (female).
This is the first time player Bang Gia Huy has been awarded a place to participate in the Southeast Asian Games. This year, this player is only 16 years old.
At the 33rd SEA Games, chess has 4 events for maruk flags (men's teammates, standard men's doubles, men's speed teammates, standard mixed men's and women's teams), Asean flags have 2 events (men's team flags, women's team chess), chess has 2 events (men's chess is fast, women's chess is fast).
Grandmaster Le Quang Liem did not participate in the 33rd SEA Games. However, the Chess Team determined that the squad of 6 players still tried to ensure the best results, striving to win the gold medal in Thailand this year.
In addition to Peng Jia Xu, player Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong will also participate in the 33rd SEA Games for the first time. Meanwhile, grandmasters Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Le Tuan Minh, Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Vo Thi Kim Phung are all experienced in the Vietnamese flag village and have achieved significant international results.
