True to the meaning of Triathlon (combining events), 6 chess players competed in all events at the tournament, including 960 chess, rapid chess, blitz chess, standard chess to determine the overall results.
On July 11, the 960 chess matches will take place first. 6 chess players of the tournament including Le Quang Liem, Levon Aronian, Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş, Matthias Bluebaum, José Martínez, Aydin Suleymanli will compete in 960 chess in just one day.
The results in the 960 chess event are used to determine the seed ranking for each player.
Next, on July 12, 6 chess players will compete in rapid chess in a round-robin format with 5 games.
After rapid chess, Le Quang Liem and 5 opponents will participate in the first stage of standard chess. All compete in a round-robin format with a total of 5 games for each player taking place from July 14 to July 18.
At the end of the first stage of standard chess, 6 players will compete in blitz chess. 10 matches of blitz chess will take place on July 19. Through this, players will compete in 2 round-robin rounds.
After the blitz chess match ended, the Organizing Committee calculated the total achievements in the rapid chess, blitz chess, first stage standard chess events and selected the 4 best players to continue.
4 faces will compete in stage 2 of standard chess from July 21 to July 23 to determine the overall champion. Stage 2 of standard chess will compete in a round-robin format to calculate the final result.
Le Quang Liem just participated in the blitz tournament in Spain but unfortunately lost in the final, so he received the runner-up title.
