In order to motivate athletes to compete before the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Physical Training Federation has just issued a decision to give a bonus to athletes who won medals at the Games.
The gold medal was awarded 10 million VND, the silver medal was awarded 6 million VND and the bronze medal was awarded 4 million VND. This will be an important source of encouragement for the coaching staff and athletes in the context of the 33rd SEA Games with many changes in competition content and regulations, directly affecting the plans of the teams.
This year's National Tools and Physical Training Team has 7 athletes, including outstanding faces such as Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Dinh Phuong Thanh or Tran Doan Quynh Nam, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu.
The team's target is to win 2-3 gold medals, in line with the current force and the change of regulations when the two strengths are the all-round and teammates are eliminated, only individual events remain.
Each athlete can register for a maximum of 3 events and enter the finals for 2 events, requiring the team to adjust their strategy and choose content that suits the strengths of each athlete.
In the Aerobic event, Vietnam also participated with 7 athletes. At the SEA Games 2 years ago, Aerobics won all 5 gold medals, making an important contribution to helping the Vietnamese sports delegation lead the region.
However, this Congress has only two competitions left, making it more difficult to defend the achievements. However, Aerobic athletes still strive to practice at high intensity, carefully reviewing each coordination group to ensure technical, artistic and difficulty factors according to the new regulations.
Also related to the hot bonus regime, the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports has announced the prize level at the 33rd SEA Games for gold, silver, and bronze medals of 10 million VND, 5 million VND and 3 million VND respectively.
Many sports federations and associations have also mobilized social resources to supplement the prize fund.
In particular, the mixed martial arts Federation (MMA) announced a bonus of 100 million VND for the gold medal. The Taekwondo Federation awarded 700 USD, 500 USD and 300 USD respectively for three types of medals. The Athletics Federation announced a bonus of 1 billion VND if the team achieves the target of 12 gold medals.
