On the afternoon of December 1, speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan - the owner of the wrongly built plot of land - said that Mr. Huu's family had moved the house out of her family's plot of land, and was about to return to the correct location of Mr. Huu's family's plot of land.
Ms. Loan's family also submitted a petition to the leaders of Thien Huong Ward People's Committee. In which, Mr. Huu was asked to return the land to her family as it was at first. What still exists in the land plot, the family requested the authorities to confirm between the two sides about the handover of the land and related assets.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong, in September 2024, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan and her husband received a transfer of land use rights with an area of 60 m2 at plot No. 4856, map sheet No. 03 issued by the People's Committee of Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city (old) on October 19, 2024. However, on November 12, 2024, when Ms. Loan's family came to inspect, they suddenly saw that the land had been occupied by Mr. Do Van Huu's family to build a 2-storey house.
Mr. Do Van Huu said that the construction of a house on the land of Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan was due to a mistake, because Mr. Do Van Huu's family also bought a plot of land, 4 plots from the location of this plot. The People's Committee of the commune has repeatedly requested to stop construction at the wrong location. However, Mr. Huu's family still deliberately continues to build and complete the house. Therefore, Ms. Loan and her husband filed a lawsuit.
The People's Court of Region I - Hai Phong held a first-instance trial of the case, forcing Mr. Do Van Huu to move all his belongings, dismantle all construction works on the land, and return them to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Loan and her husband.
The People's Committee of the ward also mobilized Ms. Loan to resell the land to Mr. Huu's family. However, due to the two families' inability to reach an agreement, Ms. Loan's family created conditions for Mr. Huu to move the project. When moving, Mr. Huu's family committed to ensuring safety, construction order and the environment. Mr. Do Van Huu said that his family asked the "genie" to move the team at a cost of 250 million VND, not including the materials. The relocation began at the end of October, and is expected to take more than 40 days to complete.
