World Gold Medal But Not easy to win in Thailand
The Muay Vietnam team attended 2 important tournaments to know the professional ability of each martial artist at the moment including the 2025 World Championship, the Asian Championship 2025. At the end of the 2025 World Championship, the Muay Vietnam team achieved 4 gold medals.
In which, boxer Huynh Ha Huu Hieu is the only player from muay Vietnam to have a Gold Medal in the championship competition, the remaining results are in the U23 youth group.
At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, Huynh Ha Huu Hieu won the 45kg women's category in Kun khmer (a sport with a similar competition method to muay). However, at that time, Thai fighters did not participate in this sport. At the same time, the 45kg class has only 3 athletes competing, so Huynh Ha Huu Hieu won the Gold Medal.
At the upcoming 33rd SEA Games, host Thailand will organize 18 competition events in muay. In which, for the competition, 10 men's weight categories and 6 women's weight categories are organized. The remaining 2 events belong to the performance competition.
In the 6 weight categories for women at the 33rd SEA Games, the 45kg category was held. Experts predict that muay is Thailand's main sport, so the top fighters in each weight class of this sport will be registered by the home muay Team to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
Huynh Ha Huu Hieu's achievement of winning the world muay championship for 2 consecutive years (2024, 2025) in the women's 45kg category is a very encouraging result that the fighter has achieved. However, we understand that if Thai fighters participate in the above event, Huu Hieu will have many difficulties to compete for the highest achievement.
At the 2025 World Championship, the Thai muay team did not participate in the above weight class. In fact, at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, Huynh Ha Huu Hieu lost to opponent Kullanat Aonok (Thailand) in the women's 48kg weightlifting final.
Humility in goals
At the end of June 2025, the muay Vietnam Team will participate in the 2025 Asian Championship, held at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Gymnasium.
The Asian Championship is always an exciting competition, with top muay fighters participating.

According to Mr. Hai, the group of athletes who just participated in the 2025 World Championship will continue to participate in the 2025 Asian Championship.
The muay Games often record participating countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia... The 33rd SEA Games is held in Thailand, so the muay Vietnam team modestly sets a target of winning 1 to 2 Gold Medals. Thai muay fighters have a professional advantage as the top strengths in Southeast Asia.
However, at this time, the Thai muay team is hiding a lot of attention, and at the same time, the main face is not participating in the 2025 World Championship. In the above tournament, muay Thailand only achieved modest results of 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze Medals.
