The Vietnamese swimming team won many more medals on the competition day, including the achievement of Nguyen Huy Hoang in the 400m freestyle distance.
Huy Hoang finished second with a time of 3 minutes 51 seconds 63, receiving the silver medal. In the final, the person with the best result to win the gold medal was athlete Haibo Xu (China) with a result of 3 minutes 49 seconds 29.
In addition to Huy Hoang, the two main faces of the Vietnam Swimming Team, Tran Hung Nguyen and Pham Thanh Bao, also won medals. Tran Hung Nguyen finished 3rd in the men's individual 200m mixed event with a time of 2 minutes 02 seconds 71, receiving a bronze medal. Meanwhile, young swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan competed in the final but finished 6th with a result of 2 minutes 05 seconds 91.
Athlete Pham Thanh Bao won the silver medal in the men's 100m frog distance when achieving a competition result of 1 minute 01 second 08. In the final round, Thanh Bao competed directly with the reigning world champion of the Chinese team Haiyang Qin but could not overcome this face. Haiyan Qin won the medal with a time of 59 seconds 07.
In the women's events, the Vietnam Swimming Team with Nguyen Thuy Hien and Vo Thi My Tien continued to win medals. Thuy Hien won the bronze medal in the women's 100m freestyle distance with a time of 56 seconds 01.
My Tien excellently won the silver medal in the 800m freestyle distance with a result of 8 minutes 54 seconds 43 and the bronze medal in the 200m individual medley (2 minutes 15 seconds 96).
