Nguyen Thi Oanh finished first with a best time of 16 minutes 28 seconds 78, winning the gold medal. She successfully defended her title in the women's 5,000m distance at last year's tournament. With this achievement, Nguyen Thi Oanh brought home the first gold medal for the Bac Ninh Athletics Team after merging with Bac Giang.
In second place, receiving the silver medal, in this competition was Le Thi Tuyet with a result of 16 minutes 32 seconds 49. Third place is Bui Thi Thu Ha (Da Nang), 16 minutes 42 seconds 40. Former national team player Pham Thi Hong Le did not have the best results, so she finished fourth in the 4th place with a time of 16 minutes 50 seconds 67.
The 2025 National Athletics Championship attracted 480 athletes from 32 units to register to compete for 50 sets of medals. On the first day, the tournament has 10 final events.
