Efforts to regain achievements
Le Tu Chinh has registered to participate in two events including 100m and 200m for women at the 2025 National Athletics Championship. The tournament will officially take place on August 9 in Da Nang.
Le Tu Chinh officially wear the Ca Mau athletics team jersey when leaving her old unit in early 2024. Last year, the Ca Mau athletics team registered Le Tu Chinh to compete in the 2024 National Athletics Championship. However, she competed with results that were meaningful in terms of performance testing and did not compete for medals.
The reason is that the Vietnam Athletics Federation has stipulated a limit on athletes transferred to new units who must comply with the condition of wearing a jersey for at least 24 months to calculate results in official tournaments.
This year, Le Tu Chinh is eligible to compete and calculate her medal achievement at the 2025 National Athletics Championship. Therefore, the runner is determined to achieve the highest results.
A representative of the Ca Mau Athletics Team said: Le Tu Chinh has practiced to prepare for the 2025 National Athletics Championship. We really hope that you will have good results in the events you participate in to have the strongest comeback.
2021 was the last time Le Tu Chinh competed in the National Athletics Championship and won the gold medal in the women's 100m event (reaching the result of 11 seconds 66). She competed in the 100m event at the 2024 National Athletics Championship and achieved a result of 12 seconds 00.
Not giving up athletics
Le Tu Chinh was once the number one player of the Vietnam Athletics Team competing in the short distance of 100m, 200m for women. While preparing to attend the 31st SEA Games (May 2022) in Vietnam, she suffered an injury that required surgery. Since then, Le Tu Chinh has not regained her best professional results.
However, this former national team player always tries hard to practice to return strongly. At the 32-2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, Le Tu Chinh was a member of the Vietnam Athletics Team competing in the women's 4x100m relay event to win a silver medal.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen, in charge of the athletics department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) commented before this year's National Athletics Championship: "The women's 100m event is the event that will attract the strongest athletes to compete.
Tu Chinh is an experienced face. Before competing, athletes have the same opportunities, but their speed depends on age, so many young athletes maintain an advantage over their seniors.
Coach Tran Trung Nghia (Ca Mau athletics team) said that Le Tu Chinh has maintained a very high concentration in training in the past time to prepare for the 2025 National Athletics Championship.
"Tu Chinh is still very passionate about athletics, so he will definitely do his best in this year's national tournament," said Mr. Tran Trung Nghia.
