Finding gold medals in new colors
Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh has arrived in Da Nang to prepare professionally for the 2025 National Athletics Championship. This year, Nguyen Thi Oanh will be a member of the new Bac Ninh Provincial Athletics Team after the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.
Currently, Nguyen Thi Oanh has registered to participate in 4 distances at the 2025 National Athletics Championship including 1,500m, 3,000m hurdles, 5,000m and 10,000m. Coach Dao Xuan Hung of the Bac Ninh Athletics Team said: "We cannot reveal the official content of the competition, everything depends on the competition schedule and professional tactical factors".
However, fans predict that Nguyen Thi Oanh will participate in no less than 3 distances in 4 registered events. At the 2024 National Athletics Championship, she competed with the highest efficiency to win gold medals in the 1,500m, 3,000m hurdles and 5,000m distances. Nguyen Thi Oanh said: "I focus on preparing professionally and will compete according to the plan set by the coaching staff in this tournament".
Evaluating Nguyen Thi Oanh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation - Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung said: "This is an important athlete of the Vietnam Athletics Team, so we have predictions of the ability to achieve results at the National Athletics Championship. In the dispute over familiar content, Oanh is the one who dominates and this reflects the reality on the field.
Important inspection
The 2025 National Athletics Championship will take place from August 5 to August 14 at Hoa Xuan Stadium (Da Nang). 480 athletes from 32 units will officially take the field from August 9.
Not only Nguyen Thi Oanh, the coaching staff of the Vietnam Athletics Team creates conditions for national athletes to return to their home team to compete in the tournament.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Athletics Federation will use the performance of the 2025 National Athletics Championship as a professional measure to select athletes for the 33rd SEA Games.
"We will carefully consider the expertise of key athletes competing in the tournament because these are important performance indicators to assess their actual abilities", said Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen, head of the athletics department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports).
The 2025 National Athletics Championship will organize 50 events. In which, the relay competitions will take place: male and female 4x100m relay; male and female 4x200m relay; Male and female 4x400m relay; Male and female 4x800m relay; Male and female 4x100m mixed relay; Male and female 4x400m mixed relay.
