Nguyen Thi Oanh dominates the 5km distance at Tien Phong Marathon

    Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh successfully defended her throne at Tien Phong Marathon for the 9th consecutive 5km distance (th place).

    At the 66th National Marathon and Long Distance Championship of Tien Phong newspaper - 2025 held on the morning of March 30, Nguyen Thi Oanh continued to have an outstanding performance on the 5km race (team). The SEA Games champion had almost no opponents when bang to the finish line.

    Without any obstacles, the Bac Giang athlete finished first with a time of 16 minutes and 19 seconds. At the same time, Nguyen Thi Oanh also set a new record with 9 consecutive crowns in the 5km distance at Tien Phong Marathon.

    Speaking after finishing, Nguyen Thi Oanh said: "I am very happy to have completed my competition in the 5km distance. I am also happy to have successfully defended my championship for the 9th time.

    Today's rainy weather is quite favorable, supporting athletes; the running track is a bit challenging but not a big problem. This is one of the factors for athletes to confidently walk".

    The Tien Phong Marathon champion emphasized: "Today my achievement is better. This will be the motivation for me to continue to strive and make efforts towards the next goals in 2025".
