Therefore, the Vietnam Athletics Team has sent athletes from many professional teams to participate in international tournaments, including the 2025 Asian Youth Championship (U18 age group), the 2025 Singapore Open Athletics Championship, the 2025 Hong Kong (China) Open Athletics Championship, the 2025 Taiwan (China) Open Athletics Championship, and the 2025 Asian Athletics Championship.
Now, the 2025 Thailand International Athletics Tournament is the remaining international task in the athlete performance testing program, but Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen determined that this is an important opportunity to better know the preparation of the host Thai athletics team.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen added: Through each international tournament in which we have sent forces to compete, each professional team after returning is required to learn from experience and analyze each performance index.
Not all of the athletes' competition results meet the requirements, but we assess that the athletes achieve the competitive feel. In the upcoming Thailand, it is predicted that some athletes of the Thai track and field team will participate, so we will grasp your preparation."
Selecting key players for overseas training
Vietnam Athletics calculates the long-term problem of winning the ASIAD and approaching the Olympic arena. The achievement at the SEA Games is considered one of the decisive results of investment in this sport. From the 33rd SEA Games, a year later, the Vietnam Athletics Team is tasked with winning the Gold Medal at the 20th ASIAD in 2026 in Japan.
The Vietnamese athletics team plans to send key forces to train abroad in the remaining 6 months of 2025. From the international tasks performed (remaining the final tournament in Thailand), the coaching staff of the Athletics Team at the training locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho reported to key athletes in accordance with the proposal for training abroad. If nothing changes, the female 4x400m relay athlete will have the opportunity to train for a long time abroad. Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Hang, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Nguyen Thi Ngoc are the 4 players competing officially in this event.
At the 2023 Asian Athletics Championship, we won the Gold Medal in this event, and at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championship, the women's 4x400m relay team won the Silver Medal.
The women's 4x400m relay team received the gold medal bid at the 33rd SEA Games but had to win a medal at the 20th ASIAD in 2026, so the investment will be focused on the 4 athletes in this event group.
