The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is preparing to enter the AVC Nations Cup 2025 with concerns about personnel. Head coach of the Vietnam national team, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet shared that the absence of striker Tran Tu Linh due to injury has left a big gap in the first pass position - an important link in the tactical diagram.
When attackers like Bich Tuyen are playing too well, the team needs a quiet player who needs to be diligent to stabilize the first pass and defense, thereby maintaining the smooth operation of the squad.
In that context, Nguyen Thi Uyen and Nguyen Thi Phuong are considered promising options when they have participated in the national team since the beginning of 2025.
"AVC Nations Cup 2025 is a tournament for the coaching staff to experiment, find one or two players to make the ball, defend first, help create confidence and operate the team's playing style more smoothly in the rest of the year", coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet emphasized.
Many attention is towards the owner Nguyen Thi Uyen. She is one of the rare faces of Thai Binh volleyball that has been summoned over the past 2 years. Nguyen Thi Uyen used to recruit Vietnamese women's volleyball to win the 31st SEA Games Silver Medal held at home and the Silver Medal at SEA V.League 2022.

After nearly 5 years of absence, Nguyen Thi Uyen has marked her return to the national team when coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet called her up to the national team to prepare for tournaments in 2025. This is the result of the efforts that this main striker has shown in the past time in the Thai Binh club jersey.
The 1999-born hitter is 1m80 tall and has an increasingly stable performance in the rice-country national team. She is highly appreciated for her beautiful, elegant footsteps, along with quick and dangerous attacks.
Not only playing effectively in attack, the Thai Binh captain also showed versatility when actively supporting the defense, taking a safe first step and having impressive single blocking ability.
The addition of Nguyen Thi Uyen to the squad competing in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 is considered a quality addition, aiming to fill the first pass gap and renew the playing style of the Vietnam women's volleyball team.
Her diligence, stability and ability to transform in attack are expected to bring diversity and innovation to the attack, while creating favorable conditions for other key players to maximize efficiency.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 will be a big challenge for Nguyen Thi Uyen to show herself. However, this is also an opportunity for her to prove her ability and seek opportunities to participate in the next important tournaments with the Vietnam women's volleyball team.
