Two years ago, middle blocker Le Thanh Thuy was not selected to the squad of 14 official athletes participating in the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia.
At that time, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet had many options in the middle blocker position to compete in Cambodia. When deciding to make the decision, Le Thanh Thuy missed the opportunity to join the main squad. At the end of the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team won the silver medal.
From the end of 2023 to now, Le Thanh Thuy has shown high performance to be continuously focused on by head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet for the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team to perform international missions.
After the national championship seasons in 2023, 2024, and 2025, Thanh Thuy still maintains her expertise as one of the pillar middle blockers of the LPBank Ninh Binh women's team. With this performance, she deserves to be given the opportunity to be a member of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team.
In early 2025, Le Thanh Thuy participated with the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team in the AVC Nations Cup 2025, VTV Cup 2025, World Championship 2025 and SEA V.League 2025. Notably, this hitter won the runner-up position in the 2025 National Championship with the LPBank Ninh Binh women's team.
"This year is a very meaningful season for me. I have had the opportunity to compete in the 2025 World Championship and learned a lot from this experience. At the 2025 SEA V.League in Ninh Binh, my teammates and I defeated the Thai women's team for the first time. Each result and tournament helps me learn more things for my expertise, player Le Thanh Thuy once shared.
Many people have noticed that the coaching staff of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has arranged Le Thanh Thuy to play officially in many important matches in recent times. That shows that she is maintaining good form, ensuring professional requirements.
Today, November 15, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Vinh Long to train in the key phase of preparation for the 33rd SEA Games. Le Thanh Thuy continues to be one of 20 athletes trained to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in the second training phase in 2025 of the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said that he and the coaching staff will select 14 players with the best form as well as ensure a professional position on the field.
The last time Le Thanh Thuy attended the Southeast Asian Games was the 29th SEA Games held in 2017 in Malaysia. She won a bronze medal at this Congress. Through the 30th SEA Games in 2019, 31st in 2022 or 32nd in 2023, Thanh Thuy has unfortunately missed the deadline. After 8 years, this middle blocker is eagerly waiting to win an official ticket back to the upcoming 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
