Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) confirmed that Vinh Stadium is the venue for the official opening ceremony of V.League 2026-2027. The ceremony will take place at 5:45 PM on September 6, before the match between the home team Song Lam Nghe An and Bac Ninh, expected to start at 6 PM.
V.League 2026-2027 kicks off from September 4th, with round 1 matches taking place in three days. Although the new season race started before September 6th, Vinh Stadium was chosen to carry out the official opening ceremonies.
Organizing the opening ceremony at Vinh Stadium helps the match between Song Lam Nghe An and Bac Ninh receive more attention. Song Lam Nghe An is a team with a rich tradition of Vietnamese football, while Bac Ninh is participating in the highest playground for the first time after winning promotion.
Before the new season, Bac Ninh has many notable additions to the force. This team recruited some experienced players such as Le Van Xuan, Vu Tien Long, Nguyen Van Cong and Luong Hoang Nam, alongside foreign players and overseas Vietnamese players.
Meanwhile, Song Lam Nghe An continues to orient the development of young forces. The Nghe team has home advantage in the match chosen as the official opening of V.League 2026-2027.
This season has 14 participating clubs, competing in a two-round round-robin format with a total of 26 rounds. The two bottom-ranked teams will play in the First Division in the following season. The champion receives 5 billion VND in prize money, the runner-up receives 3 billion VND and the third-placed team receives 1.5 billion VND.
A noteworthy new point is that clubs can register a maximum of 4 foreign players and can use all 4 players at the same time on the field, an increase of one spot compared to last season.
VAR technology continues to be deployed in V.League 2026-2027 with 5 VAR cars meeting FIFA standards. Changes in foreign player regulations and increased application of technology are expected to contribute to improving professional quality and league management.
The Song Lam Nghe An - Bac Ninh match at 6:00 PM on September 6th will be one of the highlights of the opening round, and will also take place immediately after the official opening ceremony of V.League 2026-2027.
