On the afternoon of June 18, the Ministry of Public Security organized a launching ceremony to respond to the emulation "200-day peak of strength training, talent training, and achievement at the 10th National Sports Games in 2026".
Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security assessed that sports activities in the People's Police force in the past time have had many positive changes.
High-performance sports are developing rapidly, grasping the general trend of domestic and international sports, maintaining their position in the leading group at National Sports Games, and at the same time contributing many coaches and athletes to the national team competing in regional and international arenas.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the People's Police Sports Delegation sent 16 delegations to participate in international tournaments and won a total of 36 medals, including 11 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 14 bronze medals in sports such as shooting, martial arts, and football. These results continue to affirm the position of the People's Police Sports in the Vietnamese high-performance sports system.
The X National Sports Games will take place in November and December 2026 with 48 sports, 973 events, gathering 36 delegations from provinces and cities along with two delegations from the People's Army and the People's Police.
According to the plan, the People's Police Sports Delegation is expected to send about 50 coaches and more than 500 athletes to compete in 32/48 sports. The goal is to win 120 medals of all kinds (including 50 gold medals) and be in the top 5 overall.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung assigned the Department of Political Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the People's Police Sports Association to propose investment, renovation, upgrading of facilities, supplementing sports equipment; promptly detect, train, and foster coaches and athletes with qualities, capabilities, and development prospects.
At the same time, closely coordinate with functional units to do a good job of preparation, ensuring sufficient conditions for coaches and athletes to participate in domestic and foreign training safely, thoughtfully, practically, and effectively; proactively research and propose forms of encouragement and timely rewards for collectives and individuals who achieve excellent results at the Congress.
Speaking to receive, Major General Pham Kim Dinh - Director of the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security) said that the 200-day peak emulation period is not only aimed at professional achievements but also an opportunity to affirm the bravery, determination to win, discipline and beautiful image of the People's Police soldier.
On behalf of the athletes, shooter Trinh Thu Vinh affirmed her determination to strictly comply with the training plan, compete honestly, promote the spirit of solidarity and strive to achieve the highest results, contributing to bringing glory to the People's Police Sports as well as Vietnamese sports at the X National Sports Games.
