Target from 80 to 100 Gold Medals
Speaking to the media, Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports - Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said: "The Vietnamese sports delegation is reviewing and completing the force to participate in the 33rd SEA Games with the goal of striving to win from 80 to 100 Gold Medals. We strive to be in the top 3 leading countries with the most medals.
Not only aiming at the number of Gold Medals, Vietnamese sports also focus on achieving the best results in the Olympic and ASIAD events held at the 33rd SEA Games.
According to research, the number of members attending the 33rd SEA Games in Vietnam will be about 1,100 people. In particular, the key group of athletes for the Olympics and ASIAD events has been completed to be ready to compete in Thailand.
Two years ago, the Vietnam Sports Delegation won 136 Gold Medals, 105 Silver Medals and 114 Bronze Medals to rank first at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. At that time, Vietnamese coaches and athletes won Gold Medals in Olympic events held at the 33rd SEA Games such as basketball, athletics, cycling, gymnastics, swimming, boxing, boxing, boxing, football, golf, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting and weightlifting.
