Vietnam Sports is reviewing the final force before advising the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to decide on the number of members participating in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

All national sports teams are ready to compete with the highest determination.

More than 1,000 members attended

The high-performance sports department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) has carefully reviewed to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. Currently, the sports industry expects the number of participants in this arena to be more than 1,000 people. In particular, national sports teams must ensure achievements for key groups of athletes.

Two years ago, the Vietnamese sports delegation attended the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia with 1,003 members. Of which, the key athlete force is 702 people. At the end of the 32nd SEA Games in 2023, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation ranked first in terms of medal achievements.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has thoroughly grasped the spirit of Vietnamese sports in the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 to streamline and ensure medal achievements. Therefore, national sports teams carefully review their forces to register to compete.

On September 1, all countries participating in the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 registered a list of coaches and athletes with the Organizing Committee in Thailand. Vietnam Sports has registered a specific force.

The goal of the Vietnam Sports Delegation with the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 is to win at least 75 Gold Medals, ranking in the top 3 countries with the highest results. However, we have built a thorough professional plan to help each team select the best professional players to compete in Thailand.

Be careful with your opponents

In the last 2 Southeast Asian Games, the 31st SEA Games in 2022 in Vietnam and the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia, we are both ranked No. 1 on the total medal table.

However, host Thailand has affirmed its goal of maintaining first place at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025. In particular, according to Thai media, the Thai Sports Delegation is expected to strive to win at least 230 Gold Medals.

A representative of the Vietnam Olympic Committee once discussed: Countries in the region have carefully prepared their forces. Vietnamese sports focus on preparing professionally to strive for the highest results".

At the end of the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia, the top 5 countries in terms of medal achievements are Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines. All of these countries have announced the sending of the best forces to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 with the goal of achieving the highest achievement.

In reality, the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports have begun to inspect the professional training program at the key stage for national sports teams at training locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Bac Ninh. National sports teams all reported in detail on professional preparation.

Each sport has its own characteristics. However, at the SEA Games arena, countries (including Vietnam) are trying to compete for the highest results because they are always dedicated to the color of the flag and shirt. Therefore, in many SEA Games that we have followed, surprises in achievements have occurred, said sports expert Nguyen Hong Minh (former Director of the Department of High Performance Sports 1, General Department of Physical Education and Sports).

Meanwhile, former Head of the Vietnam Sports delegation Tran Duc Phan once shared with the press: The SEA Games all have important professional competitions. Not only Vietnamese sports, but also sports in Southeast Asia set the target of achieving the highest achievement in this arena.

After 18 years since the 2007 SEA Games, Thailand will host the SEA Games. Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games is very confident that it will achieve the highest achievement.
